About Yvette
Yvette has contributed significantly to the streaming industry. As an early pioneer in the media and cable industry, she helped to develop the first CDN as well as the world’s first on-demand. Her contributions have been acknowledged throughout the broadcast industry including several Emmy’s, a Lifetime Achievement Emmy in Television Engineering and Technology, Cable Hall of Fame inductee and recipient of various awards including the NCTA Vanguard, Wonder Woman, Broadcast and Cable 11 most influential women, CableWorld 50 most influential women, and IEEE Engineer of the Year.
Industry Accomplishments
Yvette has contributed to a variety of early technologies that influenced or led to elements of the streaming industry:
- Led the world’s first video-on-demand trial
- Pioneered the technology behind the DVD
- Played a key role in evolving the MPEG-1 standard to MPEG-2
- National Cable and Television Association’s 2014 Vanguard Award for Leadership in Science and Technology
- Name an industry Pioneer at the 2016 Internet and Television Expo
- Emmy for her work on video on demand with SeaChange
- Lifetime Achievement Emmy Award in Technology and Engineering by the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences
